Is Mathematics Really an Important Subject for the Kids?

Some kids find it boring while some kids find it interesting! Some kids find it logical while some kids find it stupid! And some kids are even suffering from Arithmophobia (fear of numbers)! We are living in the 21st century and we cannot deny the importance of this subject in everyone’s daily life. Be it a counting money in hands or be it calculating the remaining hours for your favorite sitcom to come live, we are surrounded by this subject all the time. In fact, in the United States, back in the 1920s, studying mathematics was considered to be an intellectual luxury in the society.

However, the parents are unable to understand the importance of such subject for their kids. Learning maths and applying it to our daily life helps our brain to think in a more logical and critical manner. It teaches us the order and logic behind everything. As per the learning curve of this subject, kids in elementary grades are being taught about money, later they start learning about fractions and percentage. Everyone needs to use this subject in his/her life in any way. From making budgets to evaluating an item on the basis of its price, from maintaining bank accounts to paying the bills, we can see the usage of such subject everywhere. And we are living in the country where the great Indian mathematician Aryabhatta was born – the discoverer of Zero (0), the discoverer of place value system, the discoverer of approximation value of pi, the discoverer of trigonometry, the discoverer of algebra and what not! He was the one who shaped and added the missing pieces of mathematics.

Mathematics is not all about doing lengthy calculations, it is actually much more than that. It is the only subject of the world which is same all across the globe. In whichever country you are in or whatever language you are using, this subject will be same everywhere making it the most convenient subject to study anywhere. But we genuinely need to make our child understand the value of such subject in their lives first. We need to aware them about the realities of this boring subject. Who knows that your child will come up with another new mathematical theorem or a unique formula! Mathematics is actually being used in almost every competitive entrance examination just to test the critical thinking skills of the candidates. This is the reason why every government exam in India uses maths to judge the best ones for them.

Now learning such subject is not an easy task. We all agree that even though we know how to do maths if gets failed while explaining it to someone else. And that raises another problem where we hinder ourselves to teach them to our kids on our own. In such situation, parents should enroll their kids into home tuition for maths. And that too from an expert, patient and interesting home tutor who can teach this boring subject in a much funnier manner. After all, seeing your kids enjoying maths will surely give pleasure to your eyes and heart!
